Whether you're seeking a tranquil paddle along the shoreline or a more adventurous outing into the lake's deeper areas, there's a rental choice to suit your preferences.

Motorized Boat Rentals

For those interested in covering more distance or trying their hand at fishing, 16-foot aluminum motorboats equipped with 8 to 9.9 horsepower outboard motors are available. These boats can accommodate up to five passengers and come complete with fuel and necessary safety equipment. Rental rates start at approximately $162 CAD for the first hour, with additional hours available at reduced rates. Half-day rentals, typically spanning four hours, are also offered on weekdays.

Canoe and Kayak Rentals

If a peaceful paddle is more your style, single and double kayaks, as well as canoes, are available for rent. Single kayaks start at around $49 CAD for the first hour, while double kayaks and canoes begin at approximately $91 CAD for the same duration. These vessels are perfect for leisurely exploration of the lake's serene bays and inlets, offering a closer connection to the surrounding natural beauty.

Boat Rental Information

Boat rentals operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and it's advisable to arrive early, especially during peak summer months. The rental season typically runs from early May to mid-October, weather permitting. A credit card is required for all rentals, and renters must be at least 18 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Boat Rental Safety and Regulations

Given Lake Minnewanka's glacial origins, the water remains cold throughout the year, making swimming hazardous. All boaters are required to wear personal flotation devices (PFDs), and it's essential to be aware of sudden weather changes that can lead to strong winds and waves. Additionally, to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species, all watercraft and related equipment must be cleaned, drained, dried, and certified before use in the park.
